It is no longer a fad or luxury for corporations and governmental agencies to become a part of the global landscape. Regional economic integrations, market penetration, conflict resolutions, negotiations among countries are a few examples of dialogues in diverse cultural environments. Expectedly, moving toward globalization with a wide range of cultural values, core beliefs, and business protocols has prompted misunderstandings with unwanted consequences. The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate how potentially verbal communications and non-verbal cues lead to misunderstandings. The presentation will be in the context of real-life examples such as cross-cultural negotiations, organizational leadership, and conflict resolution.
